Our Early Childhood Programs

Preschool

  • Preschool is offered for students beginning at 30 months of age and continues through the time they enter kindergarten.
  • Students learn the basics, which build a foundation for a variety of areas in life.
  • Students focus on activities that teach them the following:  recognizing colors, names of classmates, numbers, alphabet, learn fine motor skills, social development, getting along with one another, recognition of holidays, rhyming words and sounds, building vocabulary, respect and love for God, respect and love for our country, simple science inquiry, basic learning of presidents and states, following directions, and so much more.
  • Students take annual field trips, which include such things as visiting a farm in fall, the Cincinnati Zoo in the spring, as well as local walking field trips to the Harrison Police Dept., Harrison Fire Dept., etc…
  • Students participate in an annual Christmas Program and an end of the year program.
  • The school day includes Instruction Time, Chapel Time, Activity Center Time, Story Time, Snack Time, and Physical Education or Gross Motor Skill time.

Grades K - 2

  • Depending on the size of the class, students may attend class with children from multiple grades.
  • Students use the Lifepac curriculum from Alpha Omega Publications.  This leads right into the Switched on Schoolhouse curriculum used by the Upper Division Students providing a complete Scope and Sequence for the student’s education.
  • The curriculum includes lessons in Bible, Science, Math, Language Arts, and History and Geography.
  • Along with studying these 5 core subjects, students also take classes in Art, Physical Education.  They participate in field trips, class parties, and learn life lessons in developing Christian character.
